New Delhi: The College Grants Fee on Monday (March 15) handed an order stating that that the Chartered Accountant (CA), Firm Secretary (CS), or Value and Works Accountant (ICWA) {qualifications} will probably be handled as equal to postgraduate levels.

The Fee resolved a long-pending problem of parity between the three programs and different post-graduate programs.

The transfer will allow those that have accomplished the three programs to pursue PhD of their respective disciplines.

“The UGC had obtained requests from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute of Firm Secretaries of India (ICSI) and the Institute of Value Accountants of India, to contemplate the qualification being awarded by them – CA, CS and ICWA, equal to post-graduation levels,” the UGC mentioned in a press release.

“To contemplate this, a committee was constituted by the UGC. The fee, in its 550th assembly held on February 18, 2021, thought-about suggestion of the knowledgeable committee and resolved that CA, CS and ICWA qualification be thought-about equal to PG levels,” it added.

The ICSI in a tweet mentioned that the choice will assist leverage the CS career throughout the globe.
