India’s COVID-19 vaccination drive leads globally with common of over 34 lakh doses per day | India Information

New Delhi: With a mean of 34,30,502 anti-coronavirus doses being given per day, India has topped globally by way of the variety of jabs administered every day, the Union Well being Ministry mentioned on Thursday (April 8).

Cumulatively, 9,01,98,673 vaccine doses have been given to this point by 13,77,304 periods, in response to a provisional report until 7 am.

These embrace 89,68,151 healthcare staff (HCWs) and 97,67,538 frontline staff (FLWs) who’ve taken the primary dose and 54,18,084 HCWs and 44,11,609 FLWs who’ve taken the second dose.

In addition to, 3,63,32,851 and 11,39,291 beneficiaries above 60 years have been administered the primary and second dose respectively.

In response to the ministry’s information, 2,36,94,487 and 4,66,662 beneficiaries aged 45 to 60 years have been given the primary and second dose respectively.

“By way of the variety of every day doses administered globally, India stands on the high with a mean of 34,30,502 doses administered per day,” the ministry mentioned.

Eight states, together with Maharashtra, Rajastha, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala, account for 60 p.c of the entire doses given to this point within the nation.

“In its collective and collaborative combat towards the worldwide pandemic, India has crossed a landmark milestone underneath the world’s largest vaccination drive, which was launched on January 16 this 12 months,” the ministry mentioned.

“The cumulative variety of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered within the nation has crossed 9 crore,” it mentioned.

Practically 30 lakh vaccination doses got in a span of final 24 hours, ministry said on Thursday.

As on day-82 of the vaccination drive (April 7, 2021), 29,79,292 vaccine doses got. Out of which, 26,90,031 beneficiaries have been vaccinated throughout 38,760 periods for the primary dose and a pair of,89,261 beneficiaries obtained the second dose of vaccine.
